Where Quiet Grows
The kiddo and I went to Northeast Harbor on Sunday afternoon for a belated Mother’s Day adventure and headed to these public gardens run by the Land and Garden Preserve that we used to go to when she was wee.
We did not take her favorite Gold Fish crackers this time.
But it was lovely and calm and full of things blooming.
It made me think a bit about how things can bloom and blossom so quietly all around us. Fruit trees flour and bud. Seedlings reach up from the dirt toward the sun. It’s all quiet moments.
Yet, so many of us make so much noise.
THE POEM
THE RECIPE
This is an amazing mushroom pot pie by Jesse Szewczyk from Bon Appetit. It’s a bit dramatic honestly because of the phyllo top, but it’s pretty much my favorite thing in the world right this second.
QUICK NOTE
Comforting usually comes out every two weeks now. Thank you for hanging out with me. I hope you are finding good, quiet, cozy things.
